SNCI

Overview:

Saudi National Creative Initiative (SNCI) is a collaborative creative knowledge exchange platform that aims at exploring and analysing the local Saudi creative industry by weaving an active path between development policies and the local creative community. It is a physical and digital platform that is designed to help people nurture, develop and exercise their creative potential and is in line with Vision 2030.

Over the past few years, we have successfully conducted two pilots in 2013 and 2015 and one entire Saudi creative season in 2016. Some of our achievements are as follows:

  • Over 60 international experts were invited to conduct workshops and talks

  • Over 254 workshops were held in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Khobar targeting 14 different creative sectors

  • Over 5,000 participants attended the workshops and talks that took place

  • Over 50 partners from both international, regional and local public and private sectors have partnered with SNCI

Objectives:

  • Diagnose correctly the reality of the Saudi creatives so as to introduce, develop, support and enable them to participate in the local labor market

  • Analyse the current creative industries in Saudi Arabia, identifying the obstacles and difficulties that limit their effectiveness

  • Work on the participation of Saudi creatives effectively in the knowledge production process underway in the Kingdom to help support and build the Saudi economy by diversifying its sources of revenue
